CaterAura is developed and provided by Marie Gregg Apps.

CaterAura is designed to help small food businesses organise their business information, products, ingredients, suppliers, customers, catering work, production planning and related records.

We believe business software should collect only the information it needs to provide its features. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use CaterAura.

1. Information you add to CaterAura

CaterAura allows you to create and store information relating to your business.

Depending on the features you use, this may include:

  • your name and business details;

  • business contact information;

  • VAT or other business information you choose to enter;

  • customer and catering enquiry information;

  • supplier information;

  • products and recipes;

  • ingredients and packaging;

  • inventory records;

  • equipment records;

  • costs, prices and financial calculations;

  • quotes and invoices;

  • production plans;

  • business-readiness information;

  • documents, photographs and logos that you choose to add; and

  • other information you voluntarily enter into the app.

This information is processed so CaterAura can provide the features you have chosen to use.

2. How CaterAura uses your information

Information entered into CaterAura is used to provide the app's functionality.

For example, CaterAura may use information you enter to:

  • calculate product and batch costs;

  • manage inventory;

  • prepare quotes and invoices;

  • organise catering enquiries and events;

  • create production plans;

  • maintain business records;

  • display business-readiness information;

  • produce documents or reports; and

  • provide other organisational and planning features within CaterAura.

Marie Gregg Apps does not sell the business information you enter into CaterAura.

Your CaterAura business information is not used to build advertising profiles.

3. Storage and iCloud

CaterAura is designed for Apple devices.

Information may be stored locally on your device.

Where CaterAura provides iCloud storage or synchronisation and you choose to use those features, relevant information may also be stored or synchronised through your Apple iCloud account.

Apple operates iCloud and is responsible for its own infrastructure and privacy practices.

Your use of iCloud is also governed by your agreement with Apple and your Apple account settings.

4. Customer information you store

CaterAura allows businesses to keep information relating to their own customers, enquiries and catering work.

When you enter another person's personal information into CaterAura for the purposes of operating your business, you remain responsible for deciding why that information is collected, how it is used and how long it should be retained.

CaterAura provides software tools for organising this information. Marie Gregg Apps does not determine how you use your customers' personal information in the operation of your business.

You should only enter personal information that you have an appropriate lawful reason to use and retain.

5. Documents, images and business files

CaterAura may allow you to add documents, photographs, logos or other files.

These files are used to provide the feature for which you selected them, such as displaying your business logo or maintaining business records.

You control which files you choose to add to CaterAura.

6. Email and external services

Some CaterAura features may allow you to prepare or send information using services available on your device, such as email.

Where an external service is used, that provider may process information according to its own terms and privacy policy.

For example, an email provider is responsible for processing an email once it is sent using its service.

Marie Gregg Apps does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party services.

7. Analytics, advertising and tracking

CaterAura does not use the business information you enter into the app to create advertising profiles.

CaterAura does not sell your personal or business information.

If analytics, diagnostics or other third-party services are introduced in a future version of CaterAura, this Privacy Policy and the App Store privacy information will be updated where required before those practices are introduced.

8. Data retention and deletion

Information you create within CaterAura is retained so that it remains available to you while you use the app.

You can remove individual records using the relevant features provided within CaterAura.

Where CaterAura provides a facility to delete or reset stored app information, you may use this to remove the relevant information.

Information stored or synchronised through iCloud may additionally be subject to your Apple account settings, backups and Apple's own retention processes.

If information is held directly by Marie Gregg Apps and you have a legal right to request its deletion, you may contact us using the details below.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps when designing CaterAura to protect information handled by the app.

However, no electronic storage system or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You should protect your Apple device and Apple account using the security features provided by Apple, including an appropriate passcode, Face ID or Touch ID where available.

10. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable data protection law, you may have rights relating to personal information processed by Marie Gregg Apps.

These may include rights to:

  • request access to personal information;

  • ask for inaccurate information to be corrected;

  • request deletion of information in certain circumstances;

  • request restriction of certain processing;

  • object to certain processing; and

  • request portability of information where applicable.

Not every right applies in every circumstance.

You can contact Marie Gregg Apps if you wish to exercise a relevant data protection right.

You also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent data protection regulator.

11. Children's privacy

CaterAura is a business-management application and is not designed specifically for children.

We do not intentionally design CaterAura to collect personal information from children for advertising or profiling purposes.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

CaterAura will continue to develop.

New features may change the way information needs to be processed.

Where this happens, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, the privacy information provided through the App Store.

The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was most recently updated.
